When the Honda Civic Type R first arrived in the United States back in 2017, the excitement was palpable. It was the first time Honda had ever offered the Civic Type R in the US, and enthusiasts were understandably excited. Many even paid an exorbitant dealership markup to be among the first to own one. A brand-new 2022 Civic model is on the way, but Honda wants to squeeze all the mileage it can out of the outgoing car, especially the Type R.
The Japanese automaker revealed a lighter weight Type R Limited Edition, with only 1,000 units available worldwide (600 in the US). Finished in a bright shade of Phoenix Yellow, we expected the Type R to be popular amongst enthusiasts.
