Following public outrage, Santa Rosa County commissioners will not limit people s ability to speak on agenda items during county meetings and will not cap meeting lengths at five hours.
Board Chairman Dave Piech also said he would try to do better about keeping residents comments at no more than four minutes during public forum and about keeping all speakers on track and on topic when they come up to speak on an item.
The vote came early Tuesday afternoon at the County Commission meeting, the first meeting after the board attempted last week to set new rules in an attempt to curb derailed meetings and make them more efficient.
