For the second time this week, there were no new COVID cases reported in the Oxford and Elgin counties region so, with Wednesday’s seven confirmed recoveries, the active case count dipped to just 28.
To date, 2,368 people have recovered from the virus in the Southwestern public health region while there have been 2,463 total cases. Sixty-seven people have died since the beginning of the pandemic.

More than half of the area’s active cases are in Woodstock, which has 15 reported infections. St. Thomas has four active cases while Ingersoll has three. Several smaller municipalities have just one or two cases each.
