Motorists to face days of disruption due to major road closure Motorists are set to face days of disruption starting tonight (April 23) as essential maintenance is carried out on the A738 Stevenston Road to Pennyburn. A weekend road closure will start from 8pm on Friday, April 23, until 6am on Monday, April 26, and will be followed by overnight road closures (8pm-6am each night) from Monday, April 26, until Wednesday, April 28. However, there will still be access to the Ashenyards Park and as always access will be maintained for emergency services. The scheme, with a value of £175,000 will benefit road users by continuing to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the trunk road at this location and reducing the need for future maintenance.
