ALDI Ireland has announced details of its continued significant contribution to Galway’s economy and the impact of its charity partnerships across the county. In its annual ALDI Economic Impact Report published today, the company said it paid €7.5 million in wages and salaries last year and opened two new stores in Tuam and Mountbellew.

Aldi to open two new Co Galway stores

Aldi to open two new Co Galway stores Updated / Thursday, 10 Dec 2020 09:16 A computer generated image of the new Aldi store in Ballybrit in Galway Aldi Ireland is planning to open two new stores in Co Galway creating up to 60 new permanent jobs in the county.  Aldi said it is submitting a planning application to Galway City Council for a new store on Old Monivea Road, Ballybrit. The construction of its new Tuam store is also due to start in 2021.  The supermarket group also said it is actively seeking a suitable site in Athenry for a new store. Aldi said the development of its new Ballybrit store will see a substantial investment into the local area, with up to 50 jobs being created during the construction period and 30 permanent positions to become available upon opening.
