The Philadelphia Union II competition platform still hasn’t been unveiled, but they are continuing to train and schedule friendlies as they look ahead to their first season in the new MLS reserve league.
After beating West Chester United 3-1 in a friendly at YSC Sports last Saturday they’ll take on FC Motown this Sunday and have scheduled a friendly at USL Championship club Hartford Athletic for April 21.
The FC Motown match will be closed to spectators.

Now that there’s been some time to process the news of the retirement of Ray Gaddis, let’s take an updated look at the Philadelphia Union organizational depth chart at right back and what options head coach Jim Curtin has going forward at the position.
While it’s always a possibility a new player is brought in, Sporting Director Ernst Tanner didn’t allude to that being the case on Friday when he said they wouldn’t necessarily have to acquire a new right back because they have two players at the position.
Format for abbreviated U.S. Open Cup a devastating blow to amateur clubs

After waiting through the cancelation of the 2020 U.S. Open Cup, local amateur clubs were met with even more devastating news about the 2021 competition this week with the announcement that the field will be narrowed from 101 teams to just 24.
That means clubs like Vereinigung Erzgebirge, which qualified for the first time since 2002 way back in November 2019, first-time qualifier Atlantic City FC and West Chester United are likely to be waiting yet another year to participate in the oldest competition in U.S. soccer.

The transfer window is always an interesting time for me. I see all of these players moving, changing their lives, doing something new. I look inward and wonder, “What am I doing with my life? Would I have the courage and wherewithal to pick up everything and move halfway across the world to a new location?” The answer is a resounding “no chance,” so perhaps followers of the sport should be a little kinder to those struggling to immediately adjust to an unfamiliar environment, one in which they are expected to succeed at a competitive and challenging task.
