Wednesday 17th February / presented by Taylah Strano
One might ask what does the 1903 play
The Cherry Orchard, from Russia’s
Anton Chekhov, have to do with a relatively all West Australian
Perth Festival this year?
The answer is a new reimagining; bringing the scenes, words and characters from the early days of the 1900s into 1980s Australia.
To be more specific, to 1980s Manjimup. This new rework of The Cherry Orchard will be performed in the haunting and picturesque surrounds of the Sunset Heritage Precinct throughout February and March.
Breakfast with Taylah sat down with Associate Director
Ian Michael to discuss the new(ish) production.
