7月11日，温州市民高先生在市区杨府山附近一酒店与朋友聚餐，自带了一瓶2014年出厂的飞天茅台酒，交由服务员保管。之后，高先生在座位上无意间瞥见服务员将什么东西藏在了衣服下。
高先生起疑，前去查看时发现，该服务员衣服内藏着的正是自己带来的那瓶茅台酒，而桌上还摆着另一瓶“茅台”。经过仔细辨认，高先生怀疑这是一瓶假酒，正想找酒店经理时，这名服务员挣脱高先生的控制，迅速逃离现场。
高先生和酒店随后都报警。警方侦查发现，除了现场逃逸的男子邓某，店里还有另外两名服务员也不见踪迹，且这两人均来自广东省雷州市，是邓某老乡。酒店老板告诉民警，这三人是自己通过网络招聘平台招来的，6月底刚入职。7月19日，民警赶到广东雷州企水镇，将嫌疑人邓某等3人抓获。
警方调查发现，邓某等三人早有作案预谋。�
