One of the illusions from the federal budget appears to be that allocated funding such as for childcare and domestic violence are lumped in the âwomenâs basketâ which rightly should be for families and the wider community (âFirst step of long journey for womenâ, May 13). A sleight of hand to counter recent tensions, maybe, but women themselves are seemingly still a byproduct in actions, budgetary or otherwise.
