Monique McRae, the Wiscasset Branch Manager of the First National Bank, and Ann Clifford, Branch Supervisor, presented a generous donation to the Maine Art Gallery on April 9 at a meeting with several members of the gallery’s board of trustees. The contribution of $500 provides sponsorship for the “Paint the Town and Plein Air Show” July 21-25 when artists set up their easels around Wiscasset to document the local scenery. A reception will be held on the evening of July 24 at the gallery when the artwork will be for sale.

As we work our way through a new year, gallery owners and boards, event planners, store owners, lodging and attraction businesses are all taking the 2021 season one day at a time. The Maine Art Gallery Wiscasset is among those preparing and hoping for fewer virtual shows and more of the in-person variety.
“We really want to get the gallery open again this year, safely,” said Board President Wendy Ross Eichler. “We are hopeful for this year and making plans.”
