Palm Coast pays $12,500 to settle lawsuit filed by former HR director

Palm Coast has agreed to pay $12,500 to its former human resources director to settle a lawsuit she filed against the city alleging the city reneged on a severance agreement. Besides the $12,500 settlement, Debbie Streichsbier will retain all sums paid to her after the end of her employment, according to the settlement agreement. The settlement does not specify what those sums were. But Streichsbier was paid $17,520 for accrued sick pay, administrative leave and vacation after she was fired from the city. The city then fired an employee who authorized the payment to Streichsbier, saying she had done so without approval from City Manager Matt Morton.
