Northeast Louisiana colleges take aim at nursing shortage

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) Two northeast Louisiana colleges are working together to try to combat the statewide nursing shortage that has only worsened during the coronavirus pandemic. KNOE-TV reports that Louisiana Delta Community College and the University of Louisiana at Monroe have reached an agreement to allow nursing students who obtained a two-year degree at any community college in Louisiana to transfer to ULM to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

ULM/LCTCS new agreement makes B S in Nursing more available and affordable

In a move that could revolutionize the education and training of nurses in Louisiana, the University of Louisiana Monroe and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System have entered into a new agreement. Now, graduates with associate nursing degrees from any of the 12 institutions affiliated with LCTCS can seamlessly and affordably transfer to ULM to earn their B.S. in Nursing.
