哈梅内伊当天在与伊朗总统鲁哈尼等政府成员举行的会议上表示，在最近的伊核谈判中，美国坚持其顽固立场，没有向前迈出一步。他说，美方承诺取消对伊朗的制裁，实际上却没有也不会兑现承诺，美国还要求在业已存在的协议中添加新的内容。
哈梅内伊表示，美国等西方国家违背在之前协议中的承诺，也不保证它们将来会遵守诺言。伊朗政府不应在国内事务上依赖西方，否则将会失败。
