Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian swimmers, Welson Sim Wee Sheng and Phee Jinq En have been reminded not to dwell on their Rio Olympics 2016 upset, but to instead focus on shining at the Tokyo Olympics this month.
Welson, who took part in three events in Rio, namely, the men’s 200 metres (m) freestyle, 400m freestyle and 1500m freestyle while Jinq En, who swam in the women’s 100m breaststroke, failed to make the cut into the next round due to their below-par performance in the heats.
Fast forward to five years later, it seems like Welson and Jinq En have slowly picked themselves up after a disappointing Olympics debut in Rio and are now raring to perform at the Tokyo Olympics.
