安居士表示，井目前仍在正常使用，系林生斌出资由寺庙方负责建设，“因为整个井的建设和使用我们都在参与，包括吃水方面都没有问题”。
针对部分有关井的样式及图案等引发的猜测，安居士呼吁网友理性看待，“莲花是我们自己选的，因为本身寺院就有一个清净之地，莲花代表的就是一种清净。到了寺院不管谁出资，我们都要写上他的名字，都很正常的，也没有说故意炒作或是怎么。“童”字上面缺少了一个三点水，可能当时找人刻的时候有失误。林生斌倒没有要求什么。”
