Wellington Pantomime Group announces auditions for Treasure Island show in January

Wellington Pantomime Group has announced that workshops and auditions will be during the first week in August. The show will be performed at the Wellesley Cinema in Wellington. Chairman of the Pantomime Group, Pete Watts, said: We are very excited to announce that we will be holding auditions for our next pantomime, Treasure Island which we will be performing in January 2022. Audition workshops for the show will be held on Tuesday, August 3, and Friday, August 6, from 7.30pm. Auditions will be on Sunday, August 8, from 9.30am onwards. Director of Treasure Island, Kirk J Shepherd, added: Treasure Island is a pantomime I have wanted to stage for some time now and I m very excited to be part of this show.

SIX cinemas in Somerset have received more than £300k from the Culture Recovery Fund. Westlands in Yeovil received £38,926 in the latest round of grants, whereas the Film Centre in Bridgwater, Ritz in Burnham-on-Sea, Wellesley Cinema in Wellington, Wells Film Centre in Wells and Westway Cinema in Frome all received grants in December. The Film Centre received £42,143 of funding. Dan Harris, operations director at Scott Cinemas (owners of the Film Centre), said the money will go towards making changes to help customers feel safe . Scott Cinemas are very pleased to have been awarded a safety grant from the Culture Recovery Fund, which will go towards the changes necessary to make our customers feel safe and also welcome when they visit our cinemas, he said.
