we re also very comfortable with the fact that safety is in place. what are you thinking about this? well, a lift and a derailment is relatively rare. there are roughly 60 million skier visits a year, and a vast majority of them, almost all of them, of course, are safe. i m here in boulder, colorado. i m not on site. but i just got back from the east coast a couple of days ago from the holidays, and i imagine, usually the problem with lift derailments tend to be wind gusts more than a real mechanical problem. have you skied this mountain before? what do you know about this mountain? sure. it s great mountain, a well run mountain. and, again, i m guessing there are very high wind gusts to literally blow the cable off of the derailer, and that s probably what happened. it sounds like an ee vvac is go on right now.
