Andrew Sweatt, 27, appeared in person in front of Judge Vincente Vigil Tuesday at Weld District Court, where his public defender, John Walsh, asked to set forward the arraignment, citing an inability to access the case file due to a ransomware attack on Office of the Colorado State Public Defender. Though Vigil said his intent was to set a date for trial Tuesday, he granted the request, setting the arraignment for April 1.
Police arrested 61-year-old Annie Vick owner of the Pinocchios Incredible Italian restaurant chain in northern Colorado Feb. 1 on suspicion of 10 counts of securities fraud, according to an affidavit for her arrest. Vick allegedly solicited the investments though she was not licensed to sell securities without disclosing the risks involved or the losses she incurred. She also used part of the investments she solicited to repay prior investors, as well as to cover restaurant expenses, credit card payments and for personal use.
