For more than 8,000 firefighters, the state is a multifront war zone, a growing number of outofcontrol fires, 22 at latest count, have burned more than 170,000 acres. Since sunday, at least 21 people have been killed. Nearly 400 have been reported missing. More than 3500 homes and businesses are wiped out. Carter evans begins our coverage.
