A call came in Tuesday afternoon around 1 o clock that there was someone in a stopped car right near the intersection of Center and Dale Streets.
When the first officer got to the scene to figure out what was happening, he saw a man asleep behind the wheel of the car. The officer knocked on the window, and eventually, the driver woke up.
At this same time, another officer pulled up and put his car in front of the suspect s vehicle. Both officers told the man he needed to turn off the car and get out, but that did not happen. What happened was that police were then led on a chase a the man took off in his car.
