KUALA LUMPUR: Foreign buying in Bursa Malaysia equities remained net positive for a seventh consecutive week at RM66.61mil although the net amount was a sharp decline from RM359.14mil in the week prior.
KUALA LUMPUR: The net outflow of foreign funds from Bursa Malaysia continued over the previous trading week to the tune of RM376.46mil, bringing the foreign outflow so far this year to RM2.87bil, said MIDF Research in its weekly fund flow report.
The foreign outflow was lower than RM490.3mil recorded in the week before although this could be owing to the national holiday on Thursday, which resulted in fewer trading days.
A single day of foreign inflow on Tuesday also helped to pare the outflow as offshore funds bought RMRM150.3mil net of local equities.
Heavy selling by foreign funds was recorded on Tuesday with RM229.6mil net equities sold, the largest outflow for the week.
KUALA LUMPUR: The foreign net outflow on Bursa Malaysia increased to RM490.3mil over the week ended April 23, more than double the amount recorded in the prior week.
According to MIDF Research s weekly fund flow report, foreign investors were net sellers on every day except Tuesday.
The foreign net outflow was at its highest on Wednesday at RM258.17mil and smallest on Thursday at RM51.19mil.
Tuesday s net foreign inflow was recorded at RM27.5mil.
Retailers continued to be the net buyers on the market, with a net of RM171.68mil worth of equities bought over the week.
Local institutions were also net buyers with RM318.63mil of equities bought.
