Congrats goes to Ms. Lauren Begeske, who is a teacher at Center For Math & Science in Rock Island!
Ms. Begeske was nominated by Marc and Alexander Brunat. Marc wrote in his nomination:
My child’s favorite teacher is Ms. Begeske. She is a second grade teacher at the Rock Island Center for Math & Science. He always talks about how he misses going in to her class when they were doing blended learning. I have to admit a few times I have listened in to the virtual learning with all the little booger pickers. She has to keep them straight in line, I don’t know how she does it so calmly. Repeating herself to have them mute the microphone when other kids or parents are screaming in the background. Or when they start getting off topic and she gets them right back on track it truly is amazing. I know I could not do it. That’s why I took the time to fill this out.

Congrats goes to Ms. Annie Perez and Ms. Christine Coyne-Logan, who are both teachers at West High School in Davenport!
Ms. Annie Perez
Let s start with
Ms. Perez! Ms. Perez was nominated by our other teacher of the week, Christine Coyne-Logan. Ms. Coyne-Logan said,
My favorite teacher is a co-worker of mine, Annie Perez who teaches Social Studies at West High School in Davenport. She has gone above and beyond to help students be successful during the pandemic. Annie has adjusted her grading practices and late work policies to accommodate all the needs of her students while they are learning from home. Many of her students have sent her thank you emails for helping them! She deserves to be recognized for her ability to let go of the typical teaching practices and embracing practices that help students manage and be successful in their virtual/hybrid learning. #awesometeacher
