Webster County Supervisors confirmed several appointments and hires for county organizations Tuesday in the first meeting of the year.
For the Board of Supervisors, Mark Campbell and Keith Dencklau will continue to serve as chairperson and vice chairperson, respectively.
Supervisors approved the promotion of former Sgt. Derek Christie to chief deputy of the Webster County Sheriff’s Office. Christie will fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Rod Strait, who served the Sheriff’s Office from 1996 to 2020.
Christie was first hired by the Sheriff’s Office in March 2013. His promotion also comes as Sheriff Luke Fleener takes the reins from his predecessor, Jim Stubbs.
