A Fort Dodge teen was charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon Friday after Fort Dodge Police said he robbed a man in his home.
Davaris Shivers, 17, made an initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Friday for the class B and class D felonies, respectively.
Criminal complaints said Shivers entered the victims’ home in the 2000 block of South. 12th Street on Jan. 4. There, police say he demanded money from the victims at gunpoint, ordering one to the ground before going through his pockets and fleeing the scene.
Shivers was arrested Thursday by Eldora Police on an unrelated charge. In a subsequent interview, criminal complaints said the defendant admitted to going into the house with the intent of theft while armed with a handgun.
