Christmas Storm Brought Significant Rainfall

While most areas received between half an inch to an inch and a half, Honeydew received almost 4 inches of rain. Eureka (at Woodley Island) saw 0.71 inches,  Garberville measured in at 1.43 inches and Orick had 2.06 inches.     How was the rainfall in your neck of the woods? Snowy Travel Possible Friday

Posted By Kali Cozyris on Tue, Dec 22, 2020 at 11:44 AM The National Weather Service Eureka Office is advising travelers to be ready for winter weather driving conditions as a weather system bringing snow is set to hit portions of State Routes 299 and 3 on Friday. Snow level is expected to drop to 3500 to 4000 feet, possibly as low as 2500 feet. A weather system will bring a potential for snow to northeastern Trinity County Friday through Saturday. Travel on highways 299 and 3 may be impacted by snow, particularly at Oregon Mountain Summit, Buckhorn Summit and Scott Mountain Pass,  the NWS Eureka Facebook page reports. Snowfall totals up to a foot will be possible across the Trinity Alps, including Scott Mountain Summit on highway 3. Elsewhere, three to six inches of snow will be possible at Oregon Mountain and Buckhorn Summit on highway 299, while several inches of accumulation may occur across the lower valleys that include Trini
