did not appear to be as severely impacted. i mean american airlines, for example, canceled only 2% of its flights. does that suggest anything to you? i mean if this was an faa issue, wouldn t they have been impacted just as much? yes, they would. and if it was a weather issue, airlines would be impacted similarly. and so what has happened is many airlines have taken out excess capacity. in other words, they ve gotten the extra flights, the extra seats, the extra planes, and they ve reduced their flight schedules to the point where the flights are very full. and of course that helps them make more money, particularly in a pandemic when it was bad. but that also means that if anything happens to your flight, rebooking is going to be quite a fiasco. it could be days out. it s the excess seat capacity in the system that allows you to rebook, and that s sadly largely gone. wow. and we do want to note that southwest said this of the cancellations. quote, with fewer frequencies

we have to treat it more like a defense issue than naturally occurring weather issue. second of all, chris, we re not healthy. this is one of those things we don t talk about enough because people comingle it with shame. not my intent. 42% of the country is obese. these diseases of affluence put us in tough shape for this pandemic. we think about things causing disease, problems later in the life. four or five times more severe illness in those who had severe obesity, chronic kidney disease. all these things. this is a wakeup call we have to obviously get healthier. we spend $4 trillion a year on health care. if we spent 1% of that in actually addressing some of the things you just saw on the screen it would go a long way toward making us healthier and more pandemic proof. explain to us what micro bion means and why we should care.

they haven t had monsoons in three years, something that arizona relies on and we ve talked about this. this is a climate story. we are in a 21-year drought. it is getting hotter out here, record temperatures are five, six degrees higher than normal. you add to that it is not raining, as i said, that is the major crisis out here and when they go to sell their cattle, they re basically selling it at a reduced price. not a market we talk about often, we probably should. the price of cattle has gone through the basement because everybody is selling, stephanie. who do they sell the cattle to? nobody has water. reporter: selling it to brokers, getting it into supermarkets, that s fine for the consumer now. it s next year when the prices will rise because this is an annual business. this is a business that goes cyclical, is a seasonal business but there s not any cattle until next year. nobody s able to hold onto their herds because they re getting skinny and dying on ranches, stephanie.

concrete. a federal investigation is underway by the national institute of standards and technology to look into structurally what caused this building to collapse. they did the same thing after 9/11. they rarely do these investigations. searching for survivors is now halted and no time frame for when it is resumed. president biden wanted to pay for the first 30 days of this massive operation. harris: before i let you go. you talk about an indefinite break as they have to look at that second tower to make sure what, you say it s fragile. is anybody talking about how they will shore up that building? it s unclear what they are going to do. the engineers are assessing the situation and trying to establish a time frame when the searching and rescuing could still resume. harris: it s not a weather issue or a compromised pile issue. that is the other structure

kristof, colonel. nick is saying he s talking about the possibility reasons the strike may have been called off. maybe it s postponed. again, not sure. i think there s more reporting to be done. what do you think the reason would be? well, there could be several things. i think nick pointed out some really good ones such as the idea of there perhaps being a weather issue. perhaps things weren t quite in pla place. when we went into iraq in 2003, we had months of preparation before we did anything, and of course there s nothing like that in this particular case. so, you know, not that we couldn t do stuff against iran, but there may be a situation, whether it s weather dependent or operationally, something that s contingent on operational issues that may have limited things. i think those are good suppositions in this case, but, you know, we re also looking at here is the possibility that it
