the shanghai composite all down this morning. the major european markets are in the red as well. u.s. futures are down too. the world is waiting to hear the results of the monthly u.s. jobs reports. that comes out at 8:30 a.m. eastern. on the weather front, just a few days after irene, the weather radar is getting another big workout. a tropical depression is running loose in the gulf of mexico, and it s heading for the gulf coast, packing lots of rain and lots of wind. cnn s jennifer delgado is keeping watch for us. jennifer, this thing popped up pretty fast, didn t it? yeah. you know, we ve been watching this, really, for the last two days. you re right it did develop quickly. it is still a tropical depression, but we do have tropical warnings in place from pascagoula, mississippi, all the way toward sabine, texas. you re looking at satellite imagery. the winds sustained at 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 45. working into parts of southern louisiana as well as into a
can show it to you, notice what s happening in the yellow and gold shading there. that is actually the ash cloud being reflected. what you re seeing is that ash cloud actually moving towards parts of england. that s why they re saying they re expecting that ash cloud to spread over all parts of british airways as we go through tomorrow. that is likely going to be light concentrations. as i take you back over to our weather graphics here, as we show you on our graphic, anywhere in red, that s the advisory area. yellow is light concentration. red and orange, that s the more problem area and the area you probably want to pay nor attention to, including parts of ireland as well as possibly into areas including scotland and northern parts of england. in threat is going to last as we go through today. that s why flights have been actually canceled through parts of northern england as well as into scotland until 2:00 local
volcanos. jen, what s going to happen? we got a good practice out of the last eruption. as we re looking at this graphic, this is flight radar 24.com. it shows you and tracks all the planes in the skies. the yellow are the planes out there. you don t see much activity through areas, including scotland as well as northern parts of england. that s because an ash cloud causing some disruption. as we go over to our next graphic here and hopefully we can pull this up. we ll show you the ash cloud as it s moving from iceland. you can see down towards the south and east. anywhere you re seeing yellow and that orange shading, that is actually the ash being reflected back. certainly there is that out there in the atmosphere. now as i take you back over to our weather graphics here, and we talk a little bit more. anywhere in red, we have this advisory for ash, from anywhere from the surface up to about 35,000 feet in the air. now, if you notice it extends for areas including southern
