The India Meteorological Department on Wednesday said that isolated, extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya during the next two days. It also predicted exceptionally heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on Thursday. The IMD had earlier issued an orange alert for Telangana on Monday and Tuesday. Heavy rain warning has been issued in some districts of Sangareddy, the western part of Medak, and some parts of Jagitial, Karimnagar, Pedapalli, and adjoining areas.
The IMD stated in its bulletin that this weather trend was anticipated across Gangetic West Bengal today and tomorrow, over Odisha from Monday through Thursday, and over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from today through Friday.
