More natural snow would be like gold, but the Central Mass. Conference Ski League is back for another high school racing season at Ski Ward in Shrewsbury.
“We’re doing the best we can,” Algonquin coach Wayne Hey said. “The warmer weather and rain have been the problem, but now it’s starting to get colder and that’s good for snow-making.”
Hey explained that because of state restrictions on the number of skiers allowed at Ski Ward at one time, the overall league with 11 teams was divided into two pods. The Tomahawks compete with Hopkinton, Westboro, King Phillip and Medway.
