Also on the agenda will be the purchase of used vehicles for the Police Department as well as the sale of two used police vehicles. Another topic of interest in the meeting will be a response to recent social media posts regarding the condition and maintenance of the cemetery. According to the Fairfield Police Department on their Facebook page, they arrested a suspect they were searching for on the city’s south side early this afternoon. The police department posted on their Facebook page shortly after 12 noon, they were looking for a white male, wearing a black shirt, and believed to be armed. The police advised residents to remain in their homes and lock their doors until he was apprehended. Around 12:30, the police department reported the man is in custody. The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
