Chicago-based BDO USA to acquire MBAF of Florida

Wayne Berson, left, and Tony Argiz Accounting giant BDO USA plans to close this week on its biggest acquisition, a Miami-based firm. Chicago-based BDO is buying MBAF, the largest Florida-based accounting and professional services firm, BDO said in a press release. The deal, slated to close Jan. 16, will add 600 employees to BDO s current 9,000 nationally. BDO has 800 people in the Chicago area. “With BDO and MBAF combining, our respective strengths create an unmatched opportunity for two like-minded firms to become a sum much greater than their parts,” Wayne Berson, CEO of BDO USA, said in the release. “Today, we officially welcome MBAF’s outstanding leadership and staff as we anticipate what’s next in the year ahead and position ourselves for long-term resilience and unprecedented growth.”
