Recent Global High graduate receives McDonald s scholarship

Annual program funded by local McDonald’s Owner/Operators and community donations Daily Light report Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater North Texas has announced that Annaliese Mahaley of Waxahachie Global High School is among 30 local high school seniors as recipients of its 2021 Scholarships Program. Each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship, funded by the McDonald’s Owner/Operators of North Texas. Daughters of American Revolution honor Good Citizens at Patriots Tea

WHS student wins scholarship in essay contest; 11 high school students across county awarded Daily Light report On Sunday, April 25, the Rebecca Boyce Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual Good Citizen Patriots’ Tea at the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie. Regent Vicki Williams welcomed the 75 members, guests and honorees in attendance. Each high school in Ellis County was invited to choose their Good Citizen. This student exemplifies leadership, dependability, service and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities. Teachers and peers select the students because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.   Once a student is chosen as the DAR Good Citizen from their school, they are invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program. WISD s Global High earns Best High School distinction 8 years in a row

Early-college high school with STEM focus gains prestigious honor Daily Light report For the eighth year in a row, Waxahachie Global High School has been named a Best High School by U.S. News & World Report. Global High is an Early College High School with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) focus that houses 352 students. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare students for college. Global received a scorecard of 69.4 with a math proficiency of 100 percent, reading proficiency of 96 percent, and a graduation rate of 99 percent. Waxahachie Global High Principal Ken Lynch commended the students and staff for this achievement.
