high school football player. the 16-year-old was shot last night. katie marzullo is live at the scene. you spoke with the victim s family? reporter: i did. that family is in shock this morning we re standing where the shooting occurred about 9:30 last night you can see the memorial set up. he did not live in these apartments he lived in a home with his family across the street. his family cannot figure out what he was doing here or why something like this would happen to him. 16-year-old ulysses was shot and killed at an apartment complex on mcdonald avenue. his cousin placed flowers this morning. he loved his family, he lives right there. everyone knew him. we weren t expecting this. reporter: his family shared these photos aspiring professional football player. he was going to kennedy high. he was going to get recruited. he wanted to play for the nfl. his coach wanted to help him. he was such a good kid he never hung out here. reporter: police are still working on
