Sri Lanka has witnessed 11 more COVID-19 related deaths, Director-General of Health Services confirmed today (May 05).
Thereby, the country’s death toll from the coronavirus outbreak now stands at 720.
01. A 33-year-old man from Kongahawela area: He was diagnosed with novel coronavirus while receiving treatment at the Matale District Hospital. He was then transferred to the Theldeniya Base Hospital where he died on May 03. The cause of death was recorded as acute COVID pneumonia and acute kidney injury.
02. An 84-year-old man from Diyatalawa area: He was transferred from Diyatalawa Base Hospital to Badulla General Hospital after testing positive for the virus. He succumbed to COVID pneumonia, bronchitis and lung fibrosis on May 03.

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that ELEVEN (11) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Friday (Apr. 30), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 678.
The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A
79-year-old female from Piliyandala. She died on 30.04.2021 on admission to a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
02. A
76-year-old male from Dehiattakandiya. He died on 30.04.2021 while receiving treatment at Polonnaruwa General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and Severe Heart Failure.
3. A
67-year-old female from Matale. She died on 29.04.2021 while receiving treatment at Matale District General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pulmonary Syndrome.

Six new COVID-related deaths were reported in Sri Lanka on Wednesday (April 28), says the Director-General of Health Services.
Following the confirmation of latest coronavirus victims, the country’s death toll now stands at 661.
According to the particulars released by the Government Information Department, the details of the victims are as follows:
01. A 56-year-old man from Pallegama area: He died on April 25 while receiving treatment at the Mawanella Base Hospital. The cause of death was identified as COVID pneumonia.
02. A 45-year-old woman from Weerapokuna area: She was diagnosed with novel coronavirus while receiving medical care at the District General Hospital in Chilaw. She was then moved to the Homagama Base Hospital where she died on April 27. COVID pneumonia and sepsis were cited as the cause of death.

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that FOUR (04) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Apr. 15), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 608.
The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 62-year-old male from Pannipitiya. He was transferred from Colombo South Teaching Hospital to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital where he died on 12.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID-19 infection with Hepatorenal failure.
02. A 72-year-old female from Ellakkala. She was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus at Wathupitiwala Base Hospital and transferred to Minuwangoda Base Hospital, where she died on 14.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
