Driving 10 hours all the way to a Center Parcs in Germany would still save hundreds of pounds compared to its UK counterpart (pictured: Center Parcs Whinfell).
Canadian group Brookfield bought the UK resort parks from US firm Blackstone for £2.4billion in 2015, and it is thought to have been looking to sell on its investment since last year.
The Centre Parcs brand has five sites across the UK - Whinfell in Cumbria, Longleat in Wiltshire, Sherwood in Nottinghamshire, Woburn in Bedfordshire and Elveden in Suffolk.
