The Region of Waterloo said it spent over $150,000 on legal fees over an injunction to evict residents from an encampment on municipally owned land at Victoria Street North and Weber Street West in Kitchener.
The Region of Waterloo says it is not currently planning to appeal Justice M. Valente s decision that ruled it cannot evict those living at an encampment at the corner of Victoria and Weber Streets in Kitchener.
The Region of Waterloo says it will not appeal a recent court ruling that said people living at an encampment in Kitchener couldn't be evicted. The region says it will instead focus its efforts on supporting homeless individuals.
