Latrobe won’t have a Fourth of July parade this year but is planning a number of other holiday activities for July 3, including fireworks and a car cruise. Latrobe’s inaugural Fourth of July Celebration car cruise is set for 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Memorial Stadium parking lot.

HALFMOON Town resident Dorothea Roberts, age 73, was pronounced dead early Christmas morning at the scene of a fire at her single-family home.
State Police confirmed Friday that Dorothea Roberts was at home Christmas Eve with her daughter Evelyn Spika, 53, when a fire broke out.
“Spika woke to heavy smoke but was able to get out of the single family residence in time,” state police said in a news release. “Spika and responding Troopers were unable to re-enter the residence due to heavy smoke and fire.”
Halfmoon Fire Department and Clifton Park-Waterford Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the fire.
