The city civic body on Tuesday announced a 15 per cent reduction in water supply across Mumbai and neighbouring areas where it supplies water till March 5.
The BMC was allowed to use an additional 1.5 lakh ML of water from the reserves last year in June. The late arrival of the monsoon last year had forced the civic body to impose a 10% water cut on July 1.
Regular water supply will be stopped from 10 am on May 27 till 8 am on May 28 in G/North and G/South municipal wards, which covers Worli, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Dadar, Matunga and Mahim areas.
Water supply to Sewree, Parel, Naigaon, Byculla, Mazgaon, Fort, Colaba and Sandhurst Road will be affected on June 7-8 owing to pipeline connection work in front of Sewree bus depot.
As BMC will be undertaking routine maintenance work to ensure good quality of water in the city, Mumbai's water supply will be affected on Tuesday and Wednesday.
