CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - About 1,500 homes in Caddo Parish are without water Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 16) due to the severe winter weather.
The maintenance superintendent for Pine Hill Water Works, Greg Wilson, says customers could be without water at least for the rest of Tuesday night, and possibly longer. Wilson says there are exposed, frozen pipes at the Knob Hill storage site and the Winter Garden Booster Station interrupting service.

Crews are trying to cover the pipes and apply some heat to them in order to loosen the ice inside, Wilson says.

SAN ANTONIO – Guests staying at the Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk have been asked to vacate the facility due to a lack of running water and sanitation concerns.
KSAT received emails from guests saying the hotel was forcing everyone to leave by 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
The concern from guests was with icy road conditions, it would be dangerous for them to leave and scramble to another location to shelter in place.
KSAT contacted the hotel and a staff member confirmed the hotel had been mandated by its corporate office to close because there was no running water in the building or proper sanitation measures.
Water outages will require a parish-wide boil water advisory until water systems have regained capacity and water samples are tested and deemed safe for consumption.
The running water outages are due to frozen pipes, said Trameka Jewett, Missouri City’s emergency management coordinator. Jewett said residents without running water should notify their water provider and municipal utility district.
Mayor Robin Elackatt said there is a known issue with MUD 42, which serves the Brightwater area. The fire department and other utility providers are working to flush the frozen pipes, City Manager Odis Jones said.
“We are experiencing some water issues,” Jones said. “I think those water issues will dissipate as we have some warming.”
Furthermore, Missouri City residents are affected by ongoing rolling power blackouts. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas initiated rotating power outages across the state at 1:25 a.m. in an effort to reduce demand on the electric system.
