　地下ダムからくみ上げられた農業用水のスプリンクラーによる散水が２日、伊良部島で始まった。同日、市伊良部長浜の魚口地区で散水式が行われ、農業関係者が集まり、農業振興に期待を寄せた。伊良部島では給水施設（Ⅲ型）が１カ所整備されていたが、スプリンクラー（Ⅰ型）による農地への散水は初めて。　伊良部島への農業用水は仲原地下ダムから上野野原の宮古吐水槽、伊良部大橋を経由して牧山ファームポンドに送られる。散水が始まったのはほ場整備事業が進む魚口地区（59ヘクタール）のうち、かんがい施設が整備された６・４ヘクタール。順次、拡大していく。　座喜味一幸市長は「地下ダム事業は宮古の経済の大きな基盤となり、農業も大きく展開している。伊良部島に年間を通し安定して水が供給される。事�
