Delcambre water safe to drink after nearly week-long boil advisory

The almost week-long boil advisory for the Town of Delcambre has been lifted.
Town officials said Friday morning that residents would no longer need to boil their water before consuming. The advisory went into affect on Monday afternoon following a pump failure in the town.
Officials who spoke with KATC said that water in the storage tanks and water tower were used up which prompted the advisory.

Once water service is restored the “Boil Advisory” will remain in effect until further notice. Cancellation of the “Boil Advisory” will be announced through local media outlets, the City of Marietta Facebook page, the City of Marietta’s website, and the Washington County E-Alert System. (Milan, Ind.) – A water main break has led to a Water Boil Advisory in Milan.
Doug Price, with the Town of Milan, tells Eagle Country 99.3 that a Water Boil Advisory is in effect for Josephine Street, Warn Street and W. Ellis Street from Warn Street west to County Road 625 until further notice.
This comes after a 6” water main break on Wednesday morning.
Individuals with a compromised immune system, infants and elderly should not drink water without boiling first.
