Officer Shuping honored in cross-country memorial

Victoria Young An organization that rides a cross-country memorial for officers fallen in the line of duty made a stop in Concord to honor Officer Jason Shuping and his family. The Beyond the Call of Duty – End of Watch Ride to Remember pulled up in front of the Charlotte Motor Speedway with a trailer covered in over 300 faces and names of officers that died in the line of duty in the country during 2020. End of Watch Ride to Remember is a group of motorcycle riders from Spokane Valley, Washington escorting a 41-foot trailer across the country. Jagrut “J.C.” Shah founded the group in 2020 to honor fallen officers and create a network of officers and and surviving families survivors for healing.

End of Watch Ride to Remember to visit Moody Police Department

By Erica Thomas, managing editor MOODY In 2020, 264 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty. A motorcycle ride across the country is making its way to Alabama to honor local heroes. Sgt. Stephen Williams’ End of Watch was June 2, 2020. Beyond the Call of Duty’s “End of Watch Ride to Remember” will be in Moody on Friday, July 16, 2021. The ride began in Washington on May 28. It will end in Spokane Valley, Washington, on Aug. 18. The name of the ride is inspired by an officer’s “End of Watch” which is announced over the radio by a dispatcher following the death of an officer. The ceremonial last radio call is followed by a moment of silence.
