(CNN) Even though she was 4 years old at the time, Deborah Gouin remembers it like it was yesterday.
This plaque hangs in Buddy Holly s high school, where iReporter Cliff Giles graduated a few years later. My mother would listen to this light brown Zenith radio every morning to see if the school was closed, she said of her childhood in snowy Michigan. One morning, Gouin s mother heard the news and notified her brother. She said, Kenny! Buddy Holly died last night!
