The Water & Waste Sewer Advisory Committee (WWSAC) submitted to the elected council that a five-year plan of the investigation was to be undertaken into the Inlow/ Infiltration (I/I) problem that was occurring in the Mullumbimby gravity mains.
The elected council endorsed this strategy. They also agreed to $500,000 a year in funding for this investigation.
A contractor inspected both sewer mains and stormwater mains with a CCTV camera and submitted a report to the WWSAC. The WWSAC accepted that the contractor could reline the mains and rectify the I/I problem. The contractor has completed the work.
