not going the way they had envisioned at the beginning of the war when they amassed 150,000 troops on the board e of ukraine. this wasn t a straight run into kyiv. they weren t able to capture it. they haven t been able to displace zelenskyy and they re being plagued by logistical problems. they ve spread themselves too thin by all military accounts. they re having serious problems here. and that s probably why we re seeing a change of emphasis but maybe not a change of plan. we ll keep a close eye on it with you, my friend. thank you for being there for us. joining me now also here in warsaw, nbc news senior white house correspondent kelly o donnell. good to see you my friend. the president is meeting with the polish president duda, he s going to get a firsthand look at refugees, he did that yesterday on the border.
essentially almost anyone in the nfl world who wasn t a straight white man? you know, i don t know if it was necessarily hard. and granted, i don t know jon gruden. he was there when i was at espn x i think he and i may have crossed paths a couple times. i never had an in depth conversation with him, but the fact that that kind of mentality exists in the nfl should be of no surprise to anyone. and you know, realize that what jon gruden exposed is that there is a level of comfort in the nfl because understand the other half of this is at the time, gruden is sending these emails to a team executive with the washington football team. and so there s obviously a place for this kind of mentality that exists in the nfl. and gruden s emails expose that, but so it s exposed all the time looking at the league. this is a league that right now only has three black nfl head coaches. they have one black team president. and it s the first one in their
caliber machine gun. so he runs back to the barracks through a barrage of enemy fire. i remember entering the door and a lot of yelling. i remember sergeant hill telling everybody to be quiet. carter returns and he s very sweaty, very tired. and he said that we need to know who needs what. and i caught my breath. that s when i yelled, everybody needs everything. carter grabs lubricant for the machine gun and ammo. right then sergeant francis asks me where i was going. i told him and he said no, you can t go there, you ll get killed. carter runs the deadly gauntlet a third time. i used cover as i went. this wasn t a straight shot anymore. every time i would sit behind something, another explosion would go off so close. it s like it s time to move. i got across and i opened up the door and giagos, mace and larson were in the vehicle.
