we, you know, we were aware of these growing concerns among parents among educators among lawmakers about what young people can see on this app. and so we worked with the 14 year old with the permission of their parents to set up this sort of test account before taking control of it. and in the first days of scrolling we saw, you know, sort of what you would expect dance videos, cute little kids, but then we started replicating searches. online safety advocates and lawmakers had said could lead to concerning content and indeed we found content that was related to eating disorders. these sort of really explicit descriptions about how to restrict your eating, how to cut calories. we saw videos that were related to mental health and had specific descriptions of suicide or self harm. we also saw quite a number of videos that were really sort of sexual and mature in nature. and you know, this was the more that we sort of search for these things. the more they started showing up organically
why would cam be asking her about kaylee? julie s phone tripped over and over. had asked all day. you re getting multiple messages. yeah. each getting a little more worried? and i called her first. and her phone went to voice mail. which kaylee let herself phone battery go really low. so that wasn t surprising. by then, cameron already tested texted kaylee s dad, jamie, as they sat in church. his phone in his pocket kept buzzing. elbowing him. what s going on? so, he kind of said, cam doesn t know where kaylee is. okay. so kaylee s dad questioned cam. what did cameron tell you? she went to a bachelorette party and they had an argument going home. an argument?
throughout this. they believe they ve dealt with the problems they had and these were pretty serious problems with ballot printers on election day. they believe they ve dealt with them transparently. this board has held together through some incredible storms over the last two years not least of which was the partisan audit. so that wasn t surprising. nor was the reaction or the comments we heard from the audience surprising. fairly extreme. one commenter pointed at each of the five board members and called them traitors. that s kind of what we ve been hearing. over the last couple of years here in maricopa county and we ll likely hear for a few years more. let s go to pennsylvania if we can. interesting though, went to josh shapiro then to oz. then you have this refusal to certify as well in this pennsylvania county, in luzerne, in an area that is not exactly
weekend, what i learned most and it wasn t surprising, is that they think donald trump is bad for the party because he has led them to three consecutive losses. there wasn t any talk about needing to dethrone trump from the leadership of their party because he s bad for the country or because he is a danger to american democracy. this is what you re going to hear in democratic party circles. and if you talk to swing voters and independents, you ll hear that sometimes. these are republicans. as mike pence said in an interview recently, i am a party person, so once some of these candidates win their nominations, then i m going to help them try to help them win. that s where all of these republicans are. people can criticize that form of involvement. i don t think that means that chris christie or anybody else in the republican party is not being forthright about their disagreements with trump. i think it s important to understand the context of those disagreements. david, how long do
you sound a lot on them like you do just on tv or in person. it s certainly the same thing, the same guy. what did you make of the response that you got from kevin mccarthy in that meeting? it wasn t surprising to me. i saw how he had deviated from his original statements immediately after january 6th, to seize upon the politics of the moment. it s ironic in that he was he wanted to ensure that january 6th was not politicized, but in a way he s politicized january 6th the most. it just wasn t surprising. but i m glad i recorded it. that s why i recorded it, was because i didn t expect kevin mccarthy to, number one, tell the truth; number two, recount the conversation accurately, and
