SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Workers of a candidate contesting DDC elections from Wavoora, Lolab today averted a planned petrol bomb attack by the sympathizers of a candidate in opposition during a workers meeting.
The workers who stated to have apprehended the duo have filed a complaint with the police, maintaining that two activists of an opponent candidate emerged during a meeting of the workers which was being addressed by one Wasim Majnoon Mir contesting on PAGD ticket.
The workers said that upon suspicion, these two men were frisked and two petrol bombs were recovered from their possession.

Srinagar, Dec 15: People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) and an independent candidate, contesting DDC election from Bandipora-A panchayat block Thursday alleged booth capturing and bogus voting by Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party workers during the 6th phase of DDC election in Garoora village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The candidates alleged that Khursheed Ahmad Ganai, brother of former legislator and vice-president JKAP, Usman Majeed had captured a polling station and polled bogus votes in Garoora village that is the native village of Usman Majeed.

KUPWARA: Workers of an Independent candidate, contesting DDC elections from block Wavoora in Lolab, claimed to have âaverted a petrol bomb attackâ by activists of a rival candidate during a workers meet of the former on Tuesday afternoon.
The workers in their complaint to police have maintained that two activists of an opponent candidate appeared during a workers meet being addressed by Wasim Majnoon Mir, who is contesting on PAGD mandate, at Kawari, Lolab area in the district.
âUpon suspicion the persons were frisked during which two petrol bombs from the duo were recoveredâ, the workers have maintained.
