and ed gillespie, it was kind of an unusual campaign. because it was like the invasion of the body snatchers. ed gillespie, the caricature of ed gillespie that ran was not the ed show that all of us have known in the house. he is a regular washingtonian. a chamber of commerce establishment republican who beat trumpism in the primary, and then became trumpism in the general election. and it came back to bite him. everybody up on capitol hill worried right now. we got to do it. we re not south africa. but sometimes we talk politics, we sound like it. i think it s amazing. if you take 21% electorate which was african american this time, just assume, roughly, 20 the 21 voted against trump. and you take the white electorate which is the southern in the southern accent. northam is not some crazy left winger. he is pretty much a centrist, a medical doctor. i think the republicans would have had a run of ridiculous percentage among white voters to win with 20% automatically against him
tillerson did not deny he called the president a moron is certainly indicative. but the fact it made the the state department denied it, but he didn t. it made the headlines because people are in washington very concerned about the mental state of the president. steven, what s your reaction to robert s letter? i just heard about that. this is the first i ve heard about it. and if it s true, i think it doesn t add to the public debate at all for anyone to call the president a moron or to say he s mentally unfit for office. the voters knew what they were getting. and your girl lost, and your guy one. and then to say, well, gee, he s not really fit to serve the presidency, i mean the american people wanted a disrupter. somebody who was not a typical washingtonian. they voted for someone who would shake-up washington. and boy is he doing it. everywhere i go, i got to tell you, i m on the road all the time,
harris: this was public, the new comms director that comes on board next month, anthony scaramucci had this to say about loyalty, let s watch. why is he undermining his own attorney general? you can view it that way, i actually don t view it that way. with the president is trying to do is signal the people that i need your loyalty, i need your advocacy, if you re doing things i don t like, i ll express that. he s not a washingtonian. does he want a new attorney general? i don t know the answer to that. harris: it you re talking about loyalty and that s inbounds for what the president should expect. john: the way you do that is in private conversation. marie: kennedy had a key point here. jeff sessions is a product of the senate, senators on both sides of the aisle, even if they disagree with them, respect him from having to surface him.
that way. what the president is trying to do is signal to people i need your loyalty, i need your ad advocacy. if you are doing things i don t like i m going to express that is he not a washingtonian. we are both new yorkers. steve: does he want a new attorney general, anthony? i don t know the answer to that i think we have got to let the steve: it kind of looks like it to a lot of people. you know what? mr. trump looks not like the president doesn t look like the typical president. he is handling himself in a typical way for the presidency. you could see that last night in ohio. you could see it the night before in west virginia. the reason why the american people love this man so much is that he is direct. direct to the messenger. direct to the citizen. and he is also expressing his displeasure. i would say to people in this town that are working with the president, stay tough, express your opinion. be loyal, and have confidence in yourself that you can get the job done. if
opinions is a desperate man. he s a washingtonian with a virginia address. and we re going to be very careful to continue to our promote our economy. we re going to do it with workforce development and inclusivity here in virginia. and the hatred and the bigotry that s coming out of washington, we re not going to tolerate it here in virginia. display a fair hit on ed gillespie? he, basically, almost lost the republican nomination, because he wasn t close perceived as close enough to president trump. well, you know, his tax plan is a disaster. it just gives tax cuts to the rich on the backs of the working class in virginia. he supports mr. trump s now new medical plan that puts 23 million americans at risk, especially those with pre-existing conditions. he agrees with mr. trump that he should have separated from the paris agreement, putting a lot of detriment and just bad things for environment in virginia. so you know, he s just cut from the same cloth as mr. trump, and again, that
