Music Under the Night Sky The Gateway Festival Orchestra invites you to “Music Under the Night Sky”, the first of four summer concerts. Join Guest Conductor Leon Burke III and the GFO musicians in the open air of the Brookings Quadrangle for a musical tour of the Universe. We will begin with Beethoven’s 6th Symphony, the “Pastorale”. From there we visit the heavens with the music of Star Trek followed by John Williams’ Star Wars. Finally, we will return to mother earth with F. Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and maybe a picnic. The event is free.
Gateway Festival Orchestra The Gateway Festival Orchestra brings quality symphonic music to the St. Louis community through a series of free summer concerts. In “Bach to the Future”. GFO Guest Conductor Leon Burke III leads a program including Ancient Airs and Dances and the Pulcinella Suite. Special guest artists Bach to the Future will captivate the audience with their exciting and whimsical interpretations of classic and popular compositions including the Hungarian Rhapsody and a Star Wars Parody.
