The New Subaru Gymkana WRX STI Airslayer Global Takeover Tour Is Coming Soon

Are you ready for more of Travis Pastrana’s 862-horsepower WRX STI? Subaru of America just announced the 2021 Airslayer Global Takeover, an international series of hill climbs, auto shows, and enthusiast festival appearances featuring Pastrana’s 862-horsepower WRX STI. The Airslayer Global Takeover Tour kicks off with the release of the Gymkhana 2020 Extended Cut on the Subaru YouTube channel on June 15. Subaru says it will feature more than a minute of additional footage and new stunts from Pastrana’s hometown shred in Annapolis, Maryland. The 862-horsepower WRX STI makes its competition debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb Shootout July 8-11, where Pastrana will fight to win the climb up the 1.16-mile Goodwood hill.

Mt Washington Hillclimb to return Aug 13-15

PINKHAM NOTCH — Speeding will once again be allowed, even encouraged this August when the 2021 Mt. Washington Hillclimb takes place on the famed Mt. Washington Auto Road on Aug. 13-15. The Sports Car Club of New Hampshire announced Wednesday the event, originally scheduled for July 9-11, but moved back due to COVID-19 concerns, will take place a month later. At the American Rally Association s Southern Ohio Forest Rally in July, Subaru Motorsports USA had just about the worst day imaginable. Related Story The team s top driver, Travis Pastrana, was going hot down the second stage of the team s first 2020 rally in Chillicothe, Ohio when he and his co-driver Chrissie Beavis noticed flames coming out from under the hood of their Subaru WRX STI rally car. That was a bad sign. Subaru Before Pastrana could even bring the car to a stop, Beavis, an experienced co-driver, had her harnesses off and a leg out the door. The two competitors were able to get out of the car safely, and the stage came to a complete halt.
